Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend®), for the first time, will be participating at AFCEA WEST 2018 at the San Diego Convention Center from the 6th to 8th of February 2018. Visitors will not only find a broad portfolio of proven embedded military storage solutions, but also new products. This year’s highlights include Transcend's memory modules, external storage devices, body cameras, SATA III SSDs and a variety of embedded technologies proven to improve the performance of industrial applications.
Embedded Technologies for Military Applications
Transcend offers a variety of customized services, ranging from solutions with optimized firmware to customized products with special features also known as “embedded technologies.” Some embedded technologies highlighted during WEST will include: TCG Opal Specification, a class that defines level permissions for the storage/retrieval of files, protecting user data in Opal devices; Intelligent Power Shield (IPS), a technology for DRAM SSD’s operating at 5V to minimize the risk of data corruption in an event of sudden power outage; Wide Temperature, to ensure each product passes rigorous testing in a Wide Temperature Cycle Chamber; and Conformal Coating, for use in harsh environments with high moisture, high dust, or chemical contaminants.
Hardware Purge Live Demo
Transcend will demonstrate its Hardware Purge embedded technology using a SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5” SSD420K and HSD370 half-slim SSD. Hardware purge allows users to permanently erase their data on the SSD. The process is safer than software-based erasure methods and returns the SSD to its original state of manufacture. With Transcend’s hardware purge feature, sensitive data can be securely and permanently erased in an effective way.
