Transcend to Showcase Embedded Solutions at Flash Memory Summit 2018

2018/07/24
Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend®), a leading manufacturer of embedded products, will be exhibiting at Flash Memory Summit 2018 with an extensive product portfolio and embedded technologies, including the latest solid state drives, memory cards, and memory modules. Flash Memory Summit 2018 will take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA, from August 7th to August 9th. Visitors will find Transcend at Booth #724.

Exclusive Products for Embedded Applications
Participating at Flash Memory Summit for the third time, Transcend is proud to display an advanced embedded product portfolio, including the latest SATA III 6Gb/s SSDs, M.2 SSDs, mSATA and half-slim SATA SSDs, a new NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD, embedded flash storage, memory modules, and new body and dash cameras. Engineered for long life and maximum durability, Transcend’s embedded solutions undergo extensive reliability testing, and offer extended temperature solutions to ensure peak operation under the harshest environmental conditions.

New Embedded Solutions
Transcend will be displaying two embedded technologies with real world applications: AES Encryption and Wide Temperature. For applications that handle sensitive data or require increased data security, Transcend offers hardware-based AES encryption on several SSD models in 2.5”, M.2, and mSATA form factors. With hardware-based encryption, all data is encrypted before being stored in the NAND Flash. After the encrypted data has been written into the flash, it becomes virtually impossible to decrypt the data without the original key. For devices that must be operated under the harshest of conditions, Transcend utilizes a proprietary wide temperature testing process to ensure the reliability of its flash products and DRAM modules.

Live Demonstration: Hardware Purge
In addition to displaying a comprehensive embedded product lineup, Transcend will demonstrate the Hardware Purge embedded technology using a SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5” SSD420K and half-slim SSD HSD370. Hardware purge allows users to permanently erase their data on the SSD. The process is safer than software-based erasure methods and returns the SSD to its original state of manufacture. With Transcend’s hardware purge feature, sensitive data can be securely and permanently erased in an effective way.
